Providing stringent 24/7 security to an entire site of an Oil Refinery can be difficult using traditional methods, but this was the challenge set for Sicura Systems.

Intruders tend to fall into two main categories. Those who wish to disrupt the running of the site, and those that are attracted to the high value goods kept on site such as copper and other metals.

Part of Sicrua Systems solution was to install DigiFend to control a set of high resolution day and night cameras to monitor the perimeter of the site. Using the analytical system the cameras were set to detect and track motion and send an alarm back to the remote security office where DigiFend records and alerts the security team to the incident.

The system provided by Sicura Systems has proved to be highly cost effective and has since been enhanced. Also, some highly volatile areas where explosions or burst pipes may occur are now monitored as well.

At a Retail park, whilst the Sicura engineer was onsite commissioning the system, the site supervisor requested that the control room track a group of people through the Mall. Due to the quality of the pictures and the immediacy of the results, the feedback from the site to the owners of the mall was extremely positive.

Additionally, the new surveillance system created immediate awareness in the area and further anti- social behaviour was prevented. The flexibility of DigiFend allowed the Police to view the incidence without interfering with the operations within the control room.

DigiFend helps Retails Parks with a method of providing a secure and safe environment for both shoppers and staff.

When a large haulage company started to experience an unacceptable level of theft from their vehicles, they turned to Sicura Systems to find a solution. Within days, Sicura Systems were able to develop and deploy a solution based around proven technology.

Sicura solution was to fit each vehicle with a number of cameras linked to a “Black Box” which not only stored continuous video and audio data onto its own internal memory, but also transmitted live data back to the haulage company security offices, where it was monitored by staff using the DigiFend software.

The system monitors movement around the truck, which can be viewed by the driver from the comfort of his own cab. A camera was also set up to be activated when the cargo door was opened this also triggered an alarm which was automatically sent back to base.

Once installed, other benefits have been discovered. In a recent accident, the company was able to produce video evidence that their driver was not at fault, saving an expensive insurance claim.

The haulage company is now looking to install the system in the rest of their fleet of vehicles.
